Ever since I met my husband, Patrick, I have become more and more of a movie watcher. I loved movies, but I never really opened myself up to other genres besides romance or romantic comedies. So, now we are HUGE fans of Netflix. If you aren't a member, you need to be! You can cancel out having to go to a movie store ever again, just have them mailed to you! It's amazing!
So, I thought I'd share with you a few things that I've been into lately and thoroughly enjoyed! Maybe you'll find something you haven't seen and will enjoy!
East Bound and Down! FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC!
Now, if you are not interested in a lot of fowl language and explicit material, this isn't the show for you! I was first introduced to this show on HBO by my brother and he was beyond right, it's amazing. It's about a famous baseball player who has a wicked mullet, loses his baseball career, and it goes through his life after fame. He becomes a middle school teacher, but still hangs on to his "bigger-than-life" attitude and idea of himself.
HBO only ran six episodes of this show to see how the audience would react, and I think it's done well. I'm extremely excited for season two!
A movie that I loved was "The Secret Life of Bees"
I absolutely fell in love with this movie, even my husband did! It has a fabulous message, witty material, and fantastic acting. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and it will make you think. Great movie, now on to the book!
Some movies that I'm wanting to see are "My Sister's Keeper", "The Proposal", "Year One", "The Hangover", "Away We Go", and definitely "Bruno" when it comes out in a week or so. Anyone seen any of those yet? Let me know how they were!
Fourth of July weekend coming up, I'm excited to spend time with family! Obviously a cook-out, games and sparklers must ensue on Saturday, it'll be a good day! I'm also planning on baking this dish to show my mom I'm not completely inept in the kitchen! You all should try it! I call it..."Oh my gosh, ganash!" :) I got it from Bakerella (but, it's on the back of a Betty Crocker box too!) Here's the recipe.
On Sunday, Pat and I are also headed to Norfolk for the Harborfest to venture around, see some fireworks, and see Dave Barnes live! Love him!
Have a happy and safe Fourth of July, everybody!!
