Let me give you a run-down of our quick but memorable vacay! First, Tim hooked us up with an amazing 8 person condo, it was really sweet, had air-conditioning (thank the good Lord), we all got beds, an eat-in kitchen and dining room, living room, and two sweet balconies outside.
The first night we got there, Tim cooked an amazing dinner of breaded chicken, pasta and salad. He introduced me to pickled onions...YUM! I usually like cooked onions or onion rings, but not regular onions. Pickled is the way to go, people...and on top of a salad, it's perfect!
The next day, we warmed up with a sweet round of 18 holes on the Massanutten Put-Put course. It was overcast for the majority of the day which made it that much more bearable to be outside for long periods of time. 3rd place for me, woot!
Then, we all headed to the Woodstone Golf Course. It was us girls' first time golfing and it was a riot! I have to say ladies, it was really fun, I rather enjoyed myself. I was really good with my driver, my 8-iron and my 6-iron. I was pretty good out there, Pat was atleast impressed! My score...haha...57 on a 32-Par course....not too shabby, right!?
Amber and Tim also scored us all free tickets to one of the main attractions at Massanutten Resort...the Indoor Waterpark. So much fun! But first, I needed a bathing suit, and I tell ya, that was the hardest thing to find in mid-August. Nobody was selling them anymore, they are already into the fall clothing lines now. So the night before we left I went to about eight different stores and finally landed at Dick's Sporting Goods and found a bearable suit.
I am a big fan of the tankini. So many women wear bikini's that SHOULDN'T!! I refuse to be one of those people...so I choose the two-piece tankini that covers you up like a regular swimsuit would. This top design is alright, but this is what I found at the last minute, only mine has more blues and teals.
The other swimsuit trend that's in these days, the skirt bottom. So I found just a solid teal color skirt that went well with the top. It covered the necessary areas of my body that make me uncomfortable, and it actually looked really cute. Almost like a tennis outfit for the water :)
And to complete my indoor waterpark ensemble, I've had this Xhilaration terry-cloth top for a while that I bought at Target. It's cute and it covers me up as I'm headed to or from a waterpark/pool area. Mine is in black.
Check out this waterpark! It runs year-round..we are definitely talking about going back in the winter-time, how cool would that be!?
They have outside attractions as well and I rode this slide with the boys. I definitely lost in the race and hurt my arm at the end of that last hill. Once was enough for me.
My husband, Patrick did the Flow Rider! Tons of water is jetted towards you as you ride a boogie board and try to surf on it. Some folks were fabulous at it, and some weren't, but Pat said it was pretty hard. I'm proud of him for trying!
And of course, there were a ton of different waterslides. I love them! Some with tubes, some without, they are all fun.
Lastly, we ate at the Blue Ridge Buffet. Great food, SWEET TEA!, and good desserts as well. Pat and Tim really enjoyed the crab legs...I enjoyed my starches ;)
Well, I'm off to catch up with life, I hope you all are thoroughly enjoying your weekend! And a big shout-out to Carrie Lidzy at I Eat Spinach For Breakfast. She became a follower and I hope she invites many more! She's an up and coming nurse who is recording her experiences with finding a healthier lifestyle...I'll definitely be reading for pointers!
Later, ya'll!
