So far we've been doing really well with going. Pat likes the gym because there is so much variety with exercise there. You got your free weights, your strengthening machines, your treadmills, raquetball, aerobics classes, cycling, kickboxing classes, swimming...you name it, and that building has it.
I like it because we get out of the apartment to go there, so it gives me a bit more motivation to do it.
But check it out ladies, wouldn't you walk all day if you had a tv hooked up to your treadmill? We do! I normally walk thirty minutes (2 miles) on the treadmill at 3.9 miles per hour. I adjust the incline here and there throughout.
Then I use the Torso Rotation machine by Cybex. This is great for us ladies with those pesky love handles! You know what I'm talkin' about!! :)
And then lastly, I head over to dude central...the free weights. We got guys doing 'phenomenal pumps', as my brother would say, with hundreds of pounds of weights. Not me! I stick in the corner with my girly 5 pound weights and do my traditional routine. Biceps, triceps, and shoulders.
Look, I'm not trying to be a female American Gladiator! Just toned and less flabby.

i wish i had a sweet treadmill like that! i tell myself id run all the time. whether i really would or not is a whole nother story... but it looks rad.
good for you! Hubby and I have started going to the gym too. But we're old...you know what they say, too soon old, too late smart. You're smart to do it now!

I like the elliptical machine. I also dig the big stability balls for doing abs and stuff like that. And yeh, that treadmill is awesome.

I try to do between 2-4 miles on our stationary bike each day.
