My good friends and I spent the day around town this past Saturday and visited many historical sites. One of our favorites, though, was Gary Melcher's Home & Studio at Belmont in Stafford County. Really such a beautiful place with plenty of history and art! Make sure to check out his story.
But of course, I wanted to raid the gift shop. They had wonderful ornaments already out for Christmas, and this one absolutely caught my eye. I love all things antique, and this just fit the bill to a "T"!
Isn't it SO cute!?
It even came in a recyclable bag, people...that's serious! :)
I received one of the most amazing honors today from a former student. When I first began my career as a teacher, I really loved my very first class. They stay in touch quite often and I am so appreciative. They are fine young men and women and they taught me a lot too.
Well, today I had a student come visit me who just got back from Iraq. Yes, Iraq. She came into the classroom and presented me and my music department with an authentic American Flag that has been flown overseas in honor of her appreciation to us.
I melted. I am in awe of this priceless gift. I am so thankful and appreciative of our men and women overseas who are giving their lives so we can be free. As Thanksgiving swiftly approaches, we are all thinking of you, soldiers. We give thanks.
Remember, awesomeness comes in three's, so my final awesome thing...I finished uploading Jennifer's Blog today! Click the picture below to see some of my work. I'm proud of it and extremely glad she love's it!
Happy Thanksgiving break, folks! We all deserve it :)
