If you are a regular reader of my blog (thank you, if you are!) you know about my child...my dog, Brody. He is pretty much a designer puppy. A mix between a Shih-Tzu and Poodle. It took us a couple of months to figure out what breed of dog we wanted (and to coax my husband into getting one), and we finally came up with this mix. Now...where to get him from?We actually bought our dog ONLINE! If you are ever interested, we went to Council Kennels located in Georgia. We were thinking about driving down there, but it would have been just as expensive to drive as it would be to fly him up here. SO WE DID! We flew our puppy to us! It was such a great Christmas gift!
No, the dog was not traumatized from the flight, he's doing very well two years later! A healthy, happy puppy :)
When we first got him, all he wanted to do was SLEEP!
And sleep...
...and sleep some more.
But just look at that face! You wouldn't expect that he loved tearing paper apart and ripping the stuffing out of wonderful stuffed animals now, would you!? ;)
We have had him now for a great two years and we love him so much. He really is our first child. We will always, for the rest of our lives, know Brody as our first little baby.
He's a cuddler, he LOVES being outside and playing fetch with his raquetball (the perfect size for a small dog - only 15 lbs.) and he follows us everywhere we go.
He's a dog with the most character that I've ever met. He really, truly, honestly believes he is a human. And we love it! So, don't ever be afraid to buy a dog online...
...we found the best puppy in the world online with the most personality! You could be just as lucky!

Just had to throw in that while you can find a great dog from a breeder, if you don't have your heart set on a specific breed, you should check your local animal shelter - there are tons of dogs out there that really need homes and turn into fantastic companions.
Your puppy is absolutely adorable.

Totally agree, Charlie! That's where both of my babies came from :) And while you did get a great and highly adorable dog online, there are a lot of reasons to be weary of purchasing one online. First and foremost, do everything you can to be sure it is a reputable breeder who has safety, temperament, etc.. in mind when they breed. Also the breeder's kennels should be clean, etc..But all that is true even when you go pick up your dog in person. Anyway, I'm done ranting now. Hehe. Can't wait for Brody to hang out with Mikko. Should be hysterical!
