My Fabulous 27th Birthday!

And what a fabulous 27th birthday it's been! First, the snow has taken over in our area and is about to get worse, so we haven't been to work yet this week. We had our third snow day today...what a perfect birthday gift :) (Plus we have a 2-hour delay tomorrow...woo hoo!)

I already showed you what my creative Mom gave me this year, and now on to what my loyal hubby did for me. He was so wonderful and took me shopping (I still had a $40 Old Navy gift card from my brother, and got a bit of birthday money from mi madre.)

So, first...I went to Old Navy. Normally I don't shop here for clothes, but I do love their accessories. Check out what I found today:

This wonderful striped black & pink scarf: $10.00.
Another fabulous scarf (can you tell I love them!?) with a bright yellow accent: $12.50.
This silver, short necklace. I've seen a lot of these kind where it almost looks like the necklace has been hit with a hammer. I dig the industrial look. $7.50.
And finally a longer silver necklace that has the same feel. I really like the style, it's a perfect shiny accessory that makes a point. $8.50.
The total Old Navy price: $40.43 with tax. And I had exactly $0.43 in my wallet :) Perfect!

Then the hubby and I popped on over to the mall and went straight into Macy's. I wasn't in there for long until I spotted this jacket from the Charter Club. This jacket was originally $60.00, but on sale for 40% off....it was only $36.00!
I love the high neckline and the way it hugs my sides. There was also a tan colored jacket, but I had to point myself to the pink, I need some more color in my wardrobe? Do any of you find yourselves buying a lot of black and brown? I have a lot of brown in my wardrobe, so I'm making it a point to get ready for Spring with some colors that pop.

Now on to my gift from the hubby. He completed my dvd collection of the amazing TV series: Sex and the City! You know, season 6 had two dvd's...and he got me both! What a good guy :)
Yay!
And finally, I got an unexpected gift from a fellow blogger today, a blogging award! Thank you to Mrs. Love Bug from The Adventures of a Mrs. I've become a follower of her blog, and you should too!
As Mrs. Love Bug said...this lemonade stand probably means we are sweet & sour...OR naughty & nice :) Either way, the rules for this award are to write 5 random things about myself...so, check it out:

1.) I don't chew gum. It takes too much energy and it always gets stuck in my teeth.
2.) I consider my dog, Brody, my baby.
3.) I love the MTV show Teen Mom...I'm obsessed with it. (Who's your favorite couple!?)
4.) I miss the candy Rips...anybody ever had those before?!
5.) I ate WAY too much for my birthday dinner tonight at Red Lobster :)

Three people I want to forward this award to:

Amanda at My Nashville Nest
Taylor at Jimmy Choos and a Baby Too!
The Johnsons at A Nerd and a Free Spirit

Congrats, folks!

And finally, on a more serious note. A high school friend of mine had posted today a cry for help for some friends of theirs, The Dever Family. Read about their devastating house fire and how we can help them. I figured it couldn't help to tell you all, my blogger friends, about their dire situation trying to find a place to live.

Have a great rest of the week, folks. And if snow is coming your way, make sure to be prepared! Stay warm!

I love those Old Navy necklaces! I might have to swing by and pick up that long one. :)

Also, OMG, TEEN MOM. LOVE IT. I really like Maci, but Ryan is such a pathetic excuse for a dad/boyfriend. I feel so bad for Maci and Bentley. (I do like Ryan's dad though--I don't know how a guy who seems to try so hard and always say the right things got such a dbag for a son.) I also heart Catelynn and Tyler--they're so cute! Slash, Butch is a piece of work.

Happy birthday!
