Today's topic is: Wedding Reception Dinners. What the heck are you going to serve to all of those fine people that came to celebrate your union!?
Will you have passed hor'douvres, or an hor'douvres station prior to dinner being served? What will those food items be?
Will you have a sit down dinner or a buffet?
What kind of food items will you have? Chicken? Filet? Pasta? What kind of vegetables or bread? What will your guests have to drink?
And finally, what will the overall look be like? How will you decorate so you create an appetizing and fun atmosphere?
It was very important to Patrick and I to have a memorable dinner. We knew that The Heart in Hand had an amazing selection of foods that tasted GOOD! So many have just bad food. You certainly don't want your reception dinner to be remembered in that way.
So, take good care of what you serve your guests so you can have the reception of the century!
Our Reception Dinner was as follows:
Hor'douvres:
Baked Brie with Mango Chutney
Crab Stuffed Mushrooms
Mini Crab Cakes with Bistro Sauce
Spring Rolls
A House Salad with a beautiful Vinaigrette sauce and a heart crouton!
Entree:
Filet Mignon
Chicken Suzanne served with a dollop of Herb Butter
Mixed Vegetables
Homemade Mashed Potatoes
Spoon Rolls
Dessert:
Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Lemon Wedding Cake

Ohhh... so yummy!
It's so true that good food is important at a wedding! I've been to some expensive ones with bad food and it's just not right!
How much longer until your summer vacation begins?
I have no idea what I would serve at my wedding. I've never really thought about it before. Where I come from a lot of weddings are catered by local barbecue businesses. Does that sound really country? It probably does. :p
